Can I sell my house before foreclosure?

Can I sell my house before the foreclosure sale?

Generally yes. Until the sale happens you usually still own the home and can sell it. The sale proceeds pay off the loan, and the lender must provide a payoff statement. Timing is tight, so a closing usually has to be complete before the sale date unless the lender agrees to postpone.

What if I owe more than the sale price?

Then the lender would have to approve a short sale, or you would need to bring funds to closing.
